Join a supportive online community for parents experiencing the unimaginable loss of a child.
What: Child Loss Support Group via Zoom
When: Six weekly Wednesday meetings, May 14 to June 18 via Zoom from 5 PM PST to 6:30 PM PST.
Who: Open to all parents who have experienced the loss of a child regardless of age or circumstance. To participate, it needs to have been at least 3 months since the death of your child. No limit on how long ago the death occurred. Group is limited to 10 participants.
What to Expect: A safe and compassionate space for sharing our stories and finding comfort, validation and strength, while connecting with others who understand the profound grief of losing a child.
This is not a psychotherapy session and is not being offered by a licensed psychotherapist. There will be an individual,15-minute pre-interview with participants prior to the start of the group.
Attendees may join in the second session if they missed the first one, but after that the group will be closed for the remainder of the meetings.
The group facilitator is Susan Talon-Mazer, a fellow bereaved parent and board member of AriYael Jewish Healing Center. Susan is a retired nurse with 44 years of experience, including 30 years in hospice and palliative care.
